This is old news but I still find it hilarious.
Students at the non-existent Sharif university in Iran submitted a paper to the reputable Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computation. You can read the paper here. The paper was submitted, complete with reviewers' comments.
The only caveat is that the paper was randomly generated! 0.O Ownage!
That gives me so much more hope in publishing.
The paper was generated using Scigen, a random article generator made by some MIT students. You can go to this website yourself and write your own paper. The program takes as its only input the authors' names, then outputs a nicely formatted academic paper with computer science buzzwords and random sentences. It comes with graphs and citations too!
So in case my summer research fails, there's my plan B.
